Job description

Fidelity Power Systems, one of the nation's largest distributors of Rehlko Generators, formerly 'Kohler, and Power Systems, is seeking a seasoned Rental Equipment Technician to join our growing team operating at our Sparks, MD office!
If you are a self-motivated and adaptable individual with a knack for world-class customer service and operational excellence, YOU may be just who we are looking for!
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform hands-on service, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs on rental generators, power distribution equipment, and related systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Assist with transporting rental equipment to and from customer job sites using company trucks and trailers while ensuring proper loading, securing, and unloading procedures.
  • Coordinate with customers on-site to support setup, startup, testing, and operational training for rented power equipment.
  • Maintain rental inventory readiness by inspecting units before and after each rental, documenting equipment condition, and identifying required maintenance or repairs.
  • Work closely with service technicians and operations staff to prepare equipment that meets company safety standards and customer performance requirements.
  • Monitor rental equipment performance during active rentals and respond to service calls or field issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support accurate completion of rental contracts, delivery documentation, inspection reports, and service records.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships by providing dependable service, technical support, and responsive communication throughout the rental process.

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • 3+ years of experience in rental maintenance, preferably in generators, power systems, or heavy equipment industries.
  • Strong understanding of generator sizing, load requirements, and application in various industries.
  • Proven ability to manage equipment logistics, dispatching, and maintenance coordination.
  • Experience with rental management software and Microsoft Office Suite for scheduling, inventory, and reporting.
  • Excellent negotiation, customer service, and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail and the capacity to work under tight deadlines.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between locations and to customer sites as needed.
