Location: Portland, ME
Compensation:  $60,000 to $70,000 + Performance Bonus (up to 100k OTE for top producers)

Milton CAT is opening a brand-new Cat Compact Store in Portland, Maine, and we're looking for motivated sales professionals to help launch and grow this exciting new location.

As one of the first team members at our newest store, you'll play a key role in building customer relationships, generating new business, and helping customers find the right equipment and rental solutions for their projects. You'll have the opportunity to make a visible impact on the success and growth of our new Portland CAT Compact location.

What You'll Do

As an Inside Sales Representative, you'll help drive the success of our new Cat Compact Store by building customer relationships, generating sales opportunities, and connecting customers with the right equipment and rental solutions.

  • Generate and follow up on equipment sales and rental leads
  • Make outbound calls to prospective and existing customers
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Identify customer needs and recommend equipment, attachments, and rental solutions
  • Support walk-in, call-in, and online customer inquiries
  • Prepare quotes and assist customers throughout the sales process
  • Sell compact equipment, work tools, Customer Value Agreements (CVAs), and Equipment Protection Plans (EPPs)
  • Assist customers with financing solutions through Cat Financial, including credit applications and approvals
  • Maintain accurate customer records and sales activities within company systems
  • Stay informed on Cat Compact products, promotions, and market trends
  • Support local marketing efforts and customer outreach initiatives
  • Maintain the store's online inventory presence, including equipment descriptions, pricing, and photographs
  • Receipt and manage incoming equipment inventory, including new, refurbished, and used equipment
  • Ensure sold equipment is promptly removed from online listings and marketing platforms
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver an outstanding customer experience
  • Achieve individual and store sales goals

  • Experience generating leads, developing opportunities, and working toward sales goals
  • Familiarity with construction equipment, landscaping equipment, compact equipment, or related industries
  • Experience with CRM systems, inventory management systems, or online sales platforms
  • Experience supporting financing or credit application processes is a plus

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Full-time position
  • Initial onboarding and training will take place at Milton CAT's Scarborough location
  • Some Saturday hours will be required once the Portland Cat Compact Store becomes operational
