Job Summary/Basic Function
The Employer Relations Student Assistant supports the Career Center's efforts to build and maintain strong relationships with employers while enhancing student engagement opportunities. This position plays a key role in assisting with career fairs, employer events, mock interviews, and outreach initiatives. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, professional, and interested in event planning, marketing, and relationship building.

Job Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Event & Program Support
  • Assist with planning and execution of career fairs, employer information sessions, and networking events
  • Provide day-of-event support, including employer check-in, set-up, and troubleshooting
  • Support virtual and in-person Mock Interview Days by coordinating schedules, materials, and communication
  • Help prepare event materials such as signage, packets, and surveys

Employer Engagement & Outreach
  • Assist with employer outreach efforts via email and phone
  • Help maintain and update employer contact lists and databases using Microsoft products and Handshake (online technology platform)
  • Support follow-up communication with employers after events and programs

Marketing & Communications
  • Work collaboratively with the Office and Event Coordinator to assist in promoting events and programs through social media, email campaigns, and digital platforms
  • Contribute ideas to increase student and employer engagement

Data Entry & Administrative Support
  • Enter and update data related to employer contacts, event attendance, and student participation
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with reporting needs
  • Provide general office support as needed

Student Interaction
  • Serve as a positive representative of the Career Center when interacting with students, employers, and campus partners
  • Assist students with basic event information and directions
