Job description

Overview

The Community Engagement Manager leads community management for poppi, serving as the primary connection between the brand and its audience across both digital and real world touchpoints. This role owns day to day engagement with our 2M+ social community, leads our 90K+ member TYB ambassador program, and delivers community led activations from real world events to surprise and delight moments that deepen emotional connection and drive positive brand sentiment.

You'll act as a key human expression of poppi's brand, building long-term relationships with creators and consumers to foster thoughtful engagement and organic, community-led virality. You'll also develop and manage a direct report, helping scale community operations and impact. This is a high-visibility, relationship-driven role for someone who lives and breathes community, has sharp instincts for tone and timing, and genuinely loves connecting with people both online and IRL.

Responsibilities

Community Management & Engagement

  • Own end to end community management across social platforms, including comments, DMs, fan mail, and hotline voicemails
  • Monitor and analyze community sentiment and cultural conversations across platforms to inform brand tone, actions, and opportunities
  • Ensure consistency in community voice, responsiveness, and experience across all touchpoints
  • Use feedback loops from the community to influence product, content, and marketing decisions
  • Drive positive brand sentiment and thoughtful, community-led virality through authentic engagement and relationship building

Ambassador & Loyalty Community Leadership

  • Lead and grow the TYB loyal ambassador community of 90K+ active members, driving participation, advocacy, and ongoing engagement
  • Develop strategy and communication cadence to keep the ambassador community engaged and activated
  • Identify opportunities to deepen creator and consumer relationships through proactive outreach and engagement initiatives

IRL Activations & Events

  • Design and deliver community first activations, including surprise and delight moments and IRL experiences
  • Plan and host quarterly community events across the country, representing the brand in person and strengthening offline relationships
  • Manage all audience sampling and community requests, including milestone moments (graduations, weddings) and trend led cultural opportunities
  • Act as a key brand representative and "friend" of the community, embodying poppi's values and tone across all in person and online interactions

People Management

  • Onboard, manage, and mentor a direct report, providing guidance, feedback, and career development support
  • Delegate effectively to scale community operations while maintaining consistency and quality
  • Build team capability alongside personal output, supporting growth in both

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with marketing, social, and brand teams to ensure community insight is embedded into broader campaigns and storytelling
  • Support crisis management and real time response handling on social platforms as needed
  • Collaborate with the social media team to align community voice with broader content and brand strategy

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $73,400 - $122,850.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 5% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field required
  • 2-4 years of experience in community management, brand engagement, or a related field, including experience managing or growing large ambassador or loyalty communities
  • Experience in Surprise and Delight, TYB (Try Your Best) Platform, and Sprout Social preferred
  • People management experience a plus
  • Strong written communication and tone of voice, with the ability to respond in a brand aligned, authentic, and culturally fluent way
  • Deep cultural fluency and social listening instincts, with the ability to translate sentiment insights into action
  • High emotional intelligence and a track record of building trust and relationships with expansive community members
  • Experience managing or mentoring team members, or strong readiness to take on people management
  • Comfort with crisis management and real time response on social platforms
  • Ability to operate in fast moving, ambiguous environments while maintaining consistency, warmth, and brand integrity
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple community initiatives simultaneously
  • Champion of poppi's brand values and community, with genuine enthusiasm for connecting with people online and in person
