Job description

Job Description

What's the opportunity?

We're looking for a leader to make RBC's internal agentic AI platform a habit, not a launch. As Director, Community & Adoption, you will drive end-user engagement, behavioural adoption, and community growth - building a vibrant internal user community, running the programs and events that showcase what the platform can do, and ensuring it becomes embedded in how people work across the enterprise.

You will bring the communication skill to make capability land with non-technical audiences, the change-management discipline to move behaviour at scale, structured user research to keep the team grounded in real user needs, and enough hands-on fluency with AI agents to demo and evangelize credibly.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • AI Champions Program: Recruiting, enabling, and sustaining a network of power users across all business lines

  • Engagement programs and events: Setting the outcomes and strategy for release showcases, hackathons and innovation sprints, and the organization-wide Agentic Showcases - partnering with the events team to deliver them

  • Enablement and education: Owning onboarding, training, skill-building resources, and the product knowledge base that help users get productive and stay current

  • Product communications: Owning release notes, internal announcements, and messaging strategy for the platform

  • Change management: Leading the behavioural adoption strategy - resistance mitigation, success storytelling, and embedding the platform in daily workflows

  • User research: Owning structured user research - interviews, usability testing, journey mapping, and surveys - to build a deep, evidence-based understanding of how RBC's people work and where the platform helps or gets in the way

  • Community measurement: Tracking community health - engagement, champion activity, event attendance, and sentiment

  • Feedback loops: Channeling community and research insight back into the product roadmap in partnership with Product Strategy & Roadmap

You're our ideal candidate if you:

  • Have 8+ years in product marketing, community management, change management, or enterprise adoption, with demonstrated enterprise-scale impact

  • Have a proven track record of driving technology adoption across large organizations

  • Have designed and operated champion/ambassador programs or communities of practice

  • Have hands-on user-research skill - able to plan and run interviews, usability tests, and journey mapping, and turn findings into product insight

  • Can set the desired outcome and strategy for a marquee engagement event and partner with an events team to bring it to life

  • Have change-management expertise - ADKAR, Kotter, or equivalent frameworks

  • Are an exceptional written and verbal communicator, able to craft compelling narratives for diverse audiences

  • Have hands-on fluency with AI agents - able to build simple demos independently and explain capabilities to non-technical audiences

  • Understand banking end-users: their workflows, communication preferences, and adoption barriers in a regulated environment

Nice to have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's / MBA in Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field

  • Change-management certification (Prosci) or an AI transformation credential

  • Experience at a major bank, fintech, or enterprise SaaS company in a community/adoption role

  • Video production or digital content creation skills

  • Experience running hackathons or innovation programs at scale

  • Familiarity with community platforms (Slack, Teams, Viva Engage) and analytic tooling

What's in it for you:

  • Drive AI transformation at one of Canada's largest and most respected financial institutions, with exposure to senior leadership across RBC

  • Be part of a newly formed, high-impact function within RBC's AI Group alongside experienced transformation leaders

  • A comprehensive Total Rewards Program including bonuses and flexible benefits, competitive compensation, commissions, and stock options where applicable

  • Leaders who support your development through coaching and managing opportunities

  • Ability to make a difference and lasting impact from a local-to-global scale

About the AI Group:

RBC's AI Group is the AI accelerator for RBC, with a focus on driving the shift from early-stage AI projects to scaled, client outcomes that amplify the impact of RBC's people. In addition to helping scale the biggest AI opportunities at RBC, the AI Group is responsible for advancing research into emerging use cases across generative and agentic AI, while maintaining expertise in security, responsible AI and regulatory expectations.

Inclusion and Equal Opportunity Employment

RBC is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. We are pleased to consider all qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, protected veterans status, Aboriginal/Native American status or any other legally-protected factors.
