Job description

Overview
The Executive Chef is a full time salaried position directing a full service kitchen and wait staff providing three meals a day and specialty dining experiences. The position manages the back of the house staff and schedules; ordering and inventory; daily oversight of food production and quality. Working closely with the Associate Director of Dining Services, the position will provide direction for cooks, wait staff, and others to ensure all functions of the Dining Department are preformed efficiently and correctly.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinating the daily menus and recipes and managing multiple job tasks
  • Directly supervising and training kitchen personnel on all related culinary activities in conjunction with Director of Food and Beverage Department
  • Overseeing daily operation of the kitchen and ensures the highest quality food products for an Independent Living community
  • Maintaining kitchen sanitation and safety standards
  • Assisting with set-up, service, and clean-up of food production
  • Ability to lift 5-20 pounds alone and up to 50 pounds with assistance

Qualifications
  • Experience with budget control and stock management
  • Strong supervisory skills
  • Flexibility with schedule and hours
  • Must enjoy working with the senior population
  • Must be able to pass a physical, background check and drug test

Education: High School diploma or GED
Licensure: Serv-Safe certification
Experience: Five (5) or more years of experience in the dining and cooking field; preferably in a healthcare & restaurant setting
