Job description

The Community Health Educator will collaborate with other community members in the development and implementation of tobacco prevention and youth development strategies throughout the communities served by North Country Hospital (NCH) with the overall goal of changing youth perception and community norms regarding tobacco use. Job Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in health, education, or human services preferred. Appropriate experience in health care or education can be considered in place of degree.

Must have strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and to track and record data. Position requires strong written and oral communication skills, the ability to communicate well in both a group setting and on an individual basis, especially within the target population. Computer skills are necessary.

Must be able to carry educational materials and other supplies to/from various settings as described above. Position requires local travel with own car.
