The Center provides safe, accessible, high-quality, holistic programs and support services for K-12 youth and their families, spanning education, recreation, leadership, and enrichment.

YOUR ROLE IN OUR MISSION

The Transportation Liaison is responsible for coordinating, overseeing, and supporting safe and reliable transportation services for children and youth participating in ROCK Community Center programs. This role serves as the primary point of contact between families, drivers, program staff, and external transportation partners to ensure timely arrivals, departures, and compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate is organized, communicative, and passionate about serving youth and families in the community.

Key Responsibilities

Transportation Coordination

  • Coordinate daily transportation schedules for youth and children attending ROCK Community Center programs.
  • Communicate pick-up and drop-off times with parents/guardians, drivers, and program staff.
  • Adjust transportation plans as needed due to program changes, weather, or emergencies.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all transportation practices align with organizational policies, safety standards, and applicable local/state regulations.
  • Verify that drivers maintain required licenses, clearances, and documentation.
  • Monitor adherence to child safety protocols, including attendance logs and authorized pick-up procedures.

Communication & Family Support

  • Serve as a liaison between families and the Community Center regarding transportation needs or concerns.
  • Address transportation-related questions, issues, or incidents promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain clear and compassionate communication with families from diverse backgrounds.

Administrative & Recordkeeping

  • Maintain accurate transportation records, including schedules, attendance, incident reports, and contact information.
  • Assist with reporting transportation data as needed for compliance or program evaluation.
  • Support program staff with logistics related to field trips and special events.

Collaboration & Support

  • Work closely with program staff, volunteers, and leadership to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned to support the overall mission of the ROCK Community Center.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with children, families, and staff.
  • Commitment to youth development and community service.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Preferred

  • Experience in transportation coordination, school programs, childcare, or youth services.
  • Knowledge of child safety and supervision best practices.
  • Valid driver's license (if role includes driving responsibilities).
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • May require standing, walking, and light lifting.
  • May involve working outdoors during pick-up and drop-off times.
  • Flexible schedule, including afternoons, evenings, or occasional weekends as program needs require.

Core Values Alignment

The Transportation Liaison is expected to uphold the ROCK Community Center's mission, values, and commitment to providing a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for youth and children.
