Job description

Job Summary:

The purpose of the Coating Wrapper is to be responsible for wrapping finished rolls with plastic and inspecting for backing defects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Apply the roll ticket to the side edge of the wrapped roll.
  • Ensure the correct roll ticket is on the wrapped roll follow the roll sequence.
  • Ensure the plastic is the correct width for roll size.
  • Use core inserts to secure the plastic in place.
  • Ensure every roll is quality wrapped (plastic is tight, no tears or holes, and the ticket is legible and not wrinkled).
  • Communicate to the supervisor/lead any issues at the wrap station (poor seal, defective plastic, etc.).
  • If there are any issues with the roll ticket sequence, communicate to the supervisor/lead ASAP.
  • Communicate with the roll-up operator on held and off-quality rolls.
  • Monitor backing for defects communicate to the inspector any observed.
  • Communication is crucial.
  • Keep the area clean at all times.

Performance Expectations (if applicable):

  • Able to sit, walk or stand throughout the shift.
  • Able to lift and carry objects up to 80 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in a repetitive motion and fast-paced environment.

Experience/Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Read and write effectively.
  • Basic math skills.

Other Requirements:

  • Overtime is required on occasion.
  • All accidents/incidents must be reported immediately.
  • Perform any other duties as required by management.
  • Safety equipment must be worn when required, and safety requirements must be followed in all areas.
  • Report any safety, quality, or production issues to management while performing the job.
  • Responsible for safety, quality, and productivity of output.
