Patient Communications Specialist (Part-Time)Optimal Health and Wellness is looking for a friendly, compassionate, and professional Patient Communications Specialist to join our team. This position is dedicated to providing outstanding customer service by answering incoming phone calls, assisting patients, and ensuring every caller has a positive experience.As the voice of our practice, you will play an essential role in helping patients navigate appointments, services, and general questions while supporting our providers and office staff.Position DetailsPosition: Part-TimePay: negotiable (based on experience)Benefits: No traditional benefits. Employee discounts on office visits, select products, and services.Primary ResponsibilitiesAnswer a high volume of incoming phone calls with professionalism and warmthSchedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointmentsDirect calls to the appropriate staff member when necessaryRespond to patient questions regarding services, appointments, and office policiesTake detailed and accurate messages for providers and staffReturn voicemail messages promptlyVerify patient demographic information when scheduling appointmentsProvide excellent customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality (HIPAA)Document patient communications accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR)Assist patients with general questions regarding office processesMaintain a calm, courteous, and positive attitude during busy periodsQualificationsOutstanding verbal communication skillsFriendly, patient, and professional telephone etiquetteExcellent organizational and multitasking abilitiesStrong attention to detailComfortable using computers and electronic medical records (EMR experience preferred)Ability to work independently and as part of a teamPrevious experience in a medical office, call center, or customer service role is preferred but not required.
