Your opportunity
Reporting directly to the Infrastructure Marketing and Promotions Manager, the Promotions Specialist (PS) is responsible for strategic plan implementation and coordination of strategic national and regional tradeshows, conferences, and events; sponsorships; advertising; and photography. A key deliverable is to meet event-specific objectives while highlighting the Stantec brand as effectively as possible. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple concurrent initiatives, and enjoys working with different personality styles and management levels, both in person and across geographies.
Your Key Responsibilities
Tradeshows/Conferences/Events
• Works closely with practice leadership to implement annual strategic tradeshows, conferences, and events with the goal of promoting Stantec's brand awareness
• Aligns messaging and graphics are developed in alignment with Company standards, specifically Stantec's brand guidelines
• Serves as a contact for tradeshow/event-related inquiries for the Infrastructure business
• Provides guidance on process and available tradeshow/event support services
• Works with internal stakeholders to implement annual strategic tradeshow/event plan
• In partnership with a visual communication designer, identify and develop collateral material and visual displays in support of building Stantec's brand awareness
• In partnership with marketing, public relations, and digital team members, identify and develop communications strategy and plan in support of Stantec's brand awareness
• Facilitates the delivery and set-up of all materials, including tradeshow exhibits, presentations, and print/electronic promotional materials in accordance with agreed upon schedule and established service level agreements
• Coordinates/purchases promotional merchandise as appropriate, including client giveaways
• Understands related costs/timelines for materials development and purchase and, shipping to assist in budgeting
• Updates and maintains promotional database of tradeshows, conferences, and events is updated (including post conference debrief forms) to influence future participation
Sponsorships
• Supports sponsorship-related inquiries and deliverables for the Infrastructure business
• Provides guidance on process and available sponsorship support services
• Supports implementation of annual strategic sponsorship plan
• In partnership with a visual communication designer, identifies and develops sponsorship related materials in support of building Stantec's brand awareness
• Assists in tracking sponsorships, including post sponsorship debrief forms to influence future participation
Advertising
• Supports advertising-related inquiries and deliverables for the Infrastructure business
• Provides guidance on process and available advertising support services
• Supports implementation of annual strategic advertising plan
• In partnership with a visual communication designer, develops copy and identifies imagery for all Infrastructure business advertisements
• Assists in tracking advertisements, including recommendations on future participation
Regional Photography
• Supports photography-related inquiries and deliverables for the Infrastructure business
• Provides guidance on process, photography guidelines, and Stantec-approved marketing photographers
• Supports implementation of annual strategic photography plan for people and projects
• Researches and identifies local outsourced photographers and establishes a Stantec-approved agreement for services
• In partnership with a local contact, provides coordination and execution of project photography including client permissions, shot list, schedule, and cost
• Uploads/batches all photos into the image library in a timely manner
• Performs quality reviews to ensure that all photography is done in accordance with Stantec's brand and photography guidelines
• Assists in tracking photography, including recommendations on future people and projectsCapabilities and Credentials

Education and Experience:
• Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, journalism, business, or related area
• Minimum 1-5 years of experience in a work environment related to Stantec's sectors, or a marketing-related field.

About the Team
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).
Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
