Job Description
Operating under detailed instructions and review, the purpose of this position is to provide the essential technical knowledge and perform the work listed. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor's competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. The purpose of this position is to work on design and perform 3D layout of moderate to complex advanced scope and may serve as Design Area Lead.
  • Conduct review of model using 3D review platform and create 3D models of moderate to advanced complexity
  • Apply project drawing standards to design drawings and 3D layout
  • Prepare 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings of advanced complexity
  • Prepare layouts and/or schematics for conceptual and detailed designs of advanced complexity
  • Develop and review project Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, and other project baseline documents for all phases of projects
  • Develop estimates, schedules, staffing requirements, progress reports, and key quantities tracking reports
  • Review drawings and vendor equipment documentation of advanced complexity within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution
  • Perform bulk material take-off analysis and tabulations
  • Deliver quality work, and adhere to the Operating System Requirements (OSR)
  • Provide close interface with, and promote the understanding of, other discipline functions
  • Interface with client IT, Electrical and Control Systems departments to obtain design basis requirements for telecommunication
  • Develop, review and audit telecommunication equipment location philosophy and block diagrams of analog and digital voice and data, imaging applications, low voltage devices for security systems and building controls
  • Check or audit telecommunication equipment/systems models and drawings
  • Develop home office effort hour estimates, material and drawing estimates, project standards and procedures
  • Develop, evaluate, and comment on telecommunication system schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Completion of Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) telecommunications distribution design courses
  • Advanced level knowledge for medium to large sized project's integrated telecommunication systems and physical security systems
  • Advanced knowledge of telecommunication system representation on drawings and knowledge of 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) and 3D systems and procedures

Basic Job Requirements
• Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in technical field of study, or; A combination of education and directly related experience equal to ten (10) years*; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
• Knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials
• Practical field experience
• Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs
