BVA Bears IT Solutions is seeking an SAP BRIM -Database Architect to work in the Middletown, PA area. This is a full time position with at least 2 days on-site and
possibly 3 days remote.
As a Database Architect you will design, implement, and optimize database solutions supporting SAP Billing and Revenue Innovation Management (BRIM) and related enterprise systems. This role ensures high availability, scalability, and compliance of data architecture across SAP S/4HANA modules, including Subscription Order Management (SOM), Convergent Invoicing (CI), and Convergent Charging. The architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SAP BRIM with external systems, maintain data integrity, and support secure, high-volume transaction processing.
Key Responsibilities:

Database Architecture & Design
  • Design and implement robust database structures for SAP BRIM and SAP S/4HANA environments.
  • Develop data models to support subscription based billing and revenue management processes.
  • Ensure optimal performance for high volume, consumption based transactions.
Integration & Data Migration
  • Collaborate with SAP functional teams to integrate BRIM with ERP, CRM, and payment gateways.
  • Lead data migration strategies, including delta loads, to minimize downtime and ensure data integrity.
  • Implement mediation systems for usage capture and rating integrations.
Compliance & Security
  • Ensure database architecture meets PCI DSS, SOC1/SOC2, and Commonwealth security standards.
  • Implement tokenization and secure payment flow designs for sensitive data.
  • Monitor and enforce encryption, role based access, and secure handling of PII.
Performance Optimization & Monitoring
  • Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning for SAP HANA and related databases.
  • Implement monitoring tools and procedures to maintain SLA compliance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data base related issues promptly.
Documentation & Governance
  • Maintain audit ready documentation for all database designs, configurations, and migrations.
  • Document technical specifications, data flow diagrams, and impact analysis reports per SAP best practices.
  • Support governance processes for change management and compliance audits.
Collaboration & Training
  • Work closely with SAP BRIM SMEs, developers, and business analysts to align database solutions with functional requirements.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior technical staff on database best practices.

Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in database architecture and administration
  • Minimum of 3 years in SAP HANA environments.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP BRIM modules (SOM, CI) and SAP S/4HANA hosted in cloud environments.
  • Expertise in designing secure, high-volume transactional systems.
  • Strong knowledge of PCI DSS compliance, tokenization, and secure payment integrations.
  • Proficiency in SQL, SAP HANA modeling, and performance tuning.
Preferred Skills:
  • SAP BRIM certifications (BR235/240/245/416) highly desirable.
  • Experience with API management and event-driven architecture using SAP BTP.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure DevOps (ADO) or JIRA for documentation and workflow.
  • Experience with ServiceNow for post go-live support.
  • Knowledge of hybrid Agile methodologies.
