BASIC PURPOSE: This internship is based out of Musket Corp's headquarters in Houston, TX. This role is designed to fully immerse students in the day-to-day supply chain and logistics activities of a commodities trading company. This role provides exposure to the movement of energy commodities from origin to customer, while developing an understanding of transportation planning, inventory management, supply optimization, and supplier coordination within a fast-paced energy trading environment.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with monitoring and analyzing fuel and commodity movements across Musket’s supply chain network.
  • Support logistics coordination involving pipelines, terminals, trucking, rail, and other transportation modes.
  • Analyze inventory levels and supply trends to help ensure product availability and operational efficiency.
  • Develop reports and dashboards related to transportation performance, inventory management, and service metrics.
  • Collaborate with trading, operations, and logistics teams to understand supply chain flows and market impacts.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within commodity movement and distribution.
  • Support supplier and customer communication regarding logistics and operational requirements.
  • Assist with process documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned based on business needs

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required
  • Currently enrolled in four-year university program, a sophomore level or above pursing a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration (Economics or Finance), or related field

Experience:

  • Past Internship experience a plus but not necessary.

 

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Skills:

  • Hard Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office, general computer knowledge; Python, SQL or related coding skills are a plus
  • Soft Skills: Keen attention to detail, strong oral and verbal communication skills, organization skills, critical thinker, and team player

Typical Physical Demands:

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
