As a Construction Commissioning Manager, you will provide leadership for commissioning, quality assurance, and performance testing of critical facilities, including data centers, healthcare facilities, and other high reliability environments. This role requires overseeing all commissioning activities, managing project schedules, budgets, and resources, ensuring that systems are fully functional and compliant with project specifications, standards, and client expectations.
In this role, you will manage all aspects of commissioning project delivery, from planning and design review through functional performance testing and project turnover. You will oversee project budgets, schedules, resources, and client relationships while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary project teams. Your leadership will help drive project success, maintain quality standards, and strengthen EEI's reputation for technical excellence and exceptional client service.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead the commissioning process from project initiation through occupancy, ensuring milestones, schedules, and deliverables remain on track.ย
- Stakeholder Coordination: Bring together Owners, General Contractors, Design Teams, Trade Partners, and EEI staff to create alignment and drive project success.ย
- Risk Management: Proactively identify and address schedule, quality, operational, and execution risks before they impact project outcomes.ย
- Client Partnership: Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and contractor partners, building strong relationships that drive collaboration and long-term success.ย
- Operational Readiness: Support project teams through testing, issue resolution, turnover, and occupancy preparation to ensure smooth transitions to operations.
- Communication & Accountability: Lead meetings, communicate project status, and drive accountability for key deliverables and commitments.
- Business Growth Support: Participate in project pursuits, presentations, and client engagements while helping identify opportunities for future work.
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Building Sciences, or a related field; equivalent experience may be substituted.
- 5+ years of experience in commissioning, construction management, project management, engineering consulting, or a related field.ย
- Strong understanding of commercial construction project delivery and project lifecycle management.ย
- Experience collaborating with General Contractors, Owners, Design Teams, and Trade Partners.ย
- Excellent communication, facilitation, relationship-building, and client-facing skills.ย
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.ย
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project leadership capabilities. ย
Preferred
- Experience supporting complex projects within data centers, healthcare, higher education, commercial, federal, aviation, laboratory, industrial, or mission critical environments.
- Experience leading project meetings, facilitating stakeholder coordination, and driving accountability across diverse teams.ย
- Working knowledge of commissioning processes, quality management systems, project turnover requirements, and operational readiness best practices.ย
- Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, CxA, BCxA, LEED AP, PE, or comparable credentials.
Working Conditions:
Typical Travel: Up to 75% travel, depending on project assignments and client needs.
Work Environment: Hybrid environment of office and in field for site visits. Site visits may include exposure to construction environments, uneven grounds, varying weather conditions, and field interactions.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform site inspections, which may include walking project sites, climbing ladders, occasionally lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, and working in confined spaces when needed. Reasonable accommodation may be provided.
Reports to: Area Manager or Director.
Supervisory duties: Project teams and technical staff across assigned projects. Responsible for driving accountability, collaboration, and successful project execution.
Partners with: Area Managers, Directors, Operations Leaders, Project Managers, Team Leaders, Business Development, People Services, Marketing, and other corporate support teams to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
Key Representative to: EEI clients, contractors, vendors and project stakeholders.
