In the role of Senior Electrical Commissioning Agent, we'll count on you to: 

  • Be the main contact between the client and HDR and direct and manage all Commissioning activities on the project
  • Adhere to budgeted man-hours and execute commissioning services
  • Coordinate with the client and contractors in scheduling the commissioning activities: develop pre-functional checklists, functional performance tests, training plans, O&M, record document shop drawing reviews.
  • Support the TMT and Data Commissioning Team with focus on Electrical Commissioning efforts.
  • Utilize all Commissioning experience within leadership. 
  • Exercise HDR policies, procedures, and guidelines while performing job duties and responsibilities. 
  • Perform tasks with the necessary instrumentation and documentation needed.
  • Up to 65% (domestic) travel may be required.
  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications 

  • 3+ years of Electrical Commissioning experience in the Mission Critical Data Center industry. 
  • Must have led Tier 1/Tier 2 project work and be experienced with Level 1 (FWT/FAT) through Level 5 commissioning work. 
  • Experience with Functional Performance testing (FPT) along with Integrated System testing (IST) is required. 
  • Experience with the following equipment such as but not limited to, Medium Voltage transformers, Vista switchgear, Medium Voltage Switchboards, Generators, Low Voltage Switchboards, Uninterruptable Power Systems (UPS), Power Distribution Units (PDU), Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), Static Transfer Switches (STS), Low Voltage transformers, Panelboards, Lighting control systems, is required. 
  • Experience in leading daily commissioning meetings onsite to inform the customer, contractors, and vendors of progress, punch list items, and obstacles to overcome. 
  • Experience updating the Project Manager of progress, projections, and hurdles such as, personnel, change orders, and timelines. 
  • Experience training junior personnel during Functional Performance training, Integrated System training, and final report development is essential.
  • Experience in developing scripts, project schedules, and deliverables such as Commissioning Plans. 
  • Participating in kickoff meetings with clientele and HDR staff to discuss scheduling, milestones, deliverables, and execution is required. 
  • Must have experience in writing executive summaries and final reports for delivery within the contractual deadline.
  • Preference given to local candidates
  • Due to client contract requirements, US-born citizenship is required

This position is subject to a preemployment drug test.

Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of 8 years of industry experience dealing with mechanical, electrical and controls disciplines
  • Must be willing to travel to site-based locations as reasonably based on HDR needs
  • Must be an experienced engineer, either a licensed PE or a field technician with excellent understanding of MEP systems, HVAC controls, the T&B process, etc
  • Must have good computer skills and effective typing skills
  • Understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be familiar with the organization of design documents, the preparation of the multidiscipline designs, and the delivery of the design & construction services
  • Strong knowledge of construction practices, systems engineering, operations fundamentals, contracting, and general business operations
  • Understanding of project accounting and financial management tools
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work; ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently
