Job description

The Role
We’re seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Specialist to lead and support automation, instrumentation, and electrical systems across our plant.
This is a hands-on, high-visibility role responsible for keeping critical systems running safely and efficiently—while also driving upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Do
  • Troubleshoot and optimize PLCs, HMIs, and control systems
  • Support and improve plant-wide electrical and instrumentation systems
  • Lead and support capital projects, upgrades, and system integrations
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams
  • Oversee contractors and ensure quality project execution
  • Maintain critical equipment (motors, switchgear, compressors, etc.)
  • Support safety systems (ESD, gas detection, flame systems)
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, EPA, PHMSA, and internal standards
What You Bring
  • 8+ years in electrical controls/automation (chemical or process industry preferred)
  • Strong PLC/DCS experience (Rockwell, GE, Emerson PAC8000)
  • Deep knowledge of industrial electrical systems and codes (NEC, ISA, IEC)
  • Experience in hazardous environments and classified systems
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot, lead projects, and drive improvements
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
