Job description


Join a leading supplier of high-quality lumber and truss products in the Twin Cities area. Our company is known for its commitment to customer satisfaction and strong relationships within the construction and building materials industry. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Lumber/Truss Salesman to help us expand our market presence and continue delivering exceptional service to our clients.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales and Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Twin Cities and surrounding areas. Build and maintain relationships with builders, contractors, and developers to drive sales of lumber and truss products.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring their needs are met and providing expert advice on product selection, pricing, and delivery schedules.
  • Market Knowledge: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to provide customers with the most current information and solutions.
  • Product Expertise: Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of our lumber and truss product offerings, including specifications, applications, and installation methods.
  • Quoting and Pricing: Prepare and present accurate quotes and pricing proposals, working closely with the estimating and operations teams to ensure profitability.
  • Collaboration: Work with internal teams, including operations, logistics, and customer service, to ensure seamless order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
  • Reporting: Provide regular sales reports and updates to management, tracking progress against sales targets and identifying areas for improvement.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in sales within the lumber or truss industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction materials, particularly lumber and truss systems.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
