Job description

Position Title: Maintenance Electrician

Department: Maintenance

Location: Sherwood Valve - Brooklyn, OH

Reports To: Maintenance Manager / Maintenance Supervisor

Classification: Hourly - Non-Exempt

Position Summary:

  • The Industrial Maintenance Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment within a manufacturing environment. This role supports CNC machines, assembly lines, and test equipment to ensure optimal uptime, safety, and production efficiency. The ideal candidate has strong PLC troubleshooting experience and a solid.understanding of industrial electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical issues on CNC machines, assembly equipment, and automated test systems
  • Maintain and repair PLC-controlled equipment, including identifying faults and restoring functionality
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical systems and production equipment
  • Install, wire, and commission new machinery, equipment, and control panels
  • Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and uptime
  • Assist with root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve issues quickly

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology, Industrial maintenance, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent hands-on experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

Required Skill Sets: (e.g., computer skills, communications, math, etc.)

  • Strong experience with PLC systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot PLC logic and make minor program modifications
  • Experience working with CNC machinery and automated manufacturing equipment- do we need to list any other specific equipment
  • Knowledge of industrial electrical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Familiarity with test equipment and automated inspection systems
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Physical Demands: (e.g., lifting, travel, etc.)

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in an industrial environment including exposure to noise, heat, and machinery
  • Ability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces when needed
