Location: Rochester NY, On-Site

Compensation: $20-$31, based on experience

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm


Join our team as a Machine Assembler, where you'll bring QVI Metrology Equipment to life with hands-on precision-contributing to world-class products from our on-site facility. This is your opportunity to apply your technical skills in mechanical assembly, troubleshooting, and quality craftsmanship, all while being part of a supportive and skilled team.

As an Assembly Technician I, you'll play a critical role in assembling, adjusting, and troubleshooting complex subassemblies and full machines. You'll use engineering drawings, ISO work instructions, and your sharp technical skills to build world-class machinery with precision. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and fine-tune a range of mechanical, optical, and electrical subassemblies under general supervision.
  • Perform technical troubleshooting and assist in resolving assembly issues with the guidance of leads and supervisors.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and ISO-standard work instructions to ensure accurate builds.
  • Conduct functional testing and inspection to maintain high standards of quality and performance.
  • Apply knowledge of mechanical and electrical components to support product functionality.
  • Maintain organized workspaces and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical assembly, including experience with tools such as torque wrenches, drills, and sanders.
  • Strong understanding of measurements, tolerances, and metrology concepts.
  • Technical curiosity and eagerness to develop in areas like computer operations, troubleshooting, and quality control.
  • Ability to read and follow technical documents such as blueprints and assembly diagrams.

Detail-oriented and disciplined, with a strong commitment to quality and accuracy.

Serious and professional in their approach, with a high standard of craftsmanship.

  • Someone who enjoys variety and change while maintaining precision and focus.

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic web navigation.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive manual tasks.
  • Comfortable standing for long periods during production.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precision tasks.
