Job Summary

The Lead Generator is an essential entry-level role on our sales team, responsible for outbound prospecting to identify small business owners who may need funding. You will use phone, email, LinkedIn, and other channels to research prospects, initiate contact, qualify interest, and set up qualified appointments for our Sales Representatives and Funding Specialists. This high-volume, metrics-driven position is perfect for motivated individuals who enjoy outreach, building initial relationships, and contributing to revenue growth in the fintech space.


Key Responsibilities

  • Research and build targeted lists of small and medium-sized business owners using online databases, LinkedIn, business directories, and provided lead sources
  • Execute high-volume outbound outreach (cold calls, personalized emails, LinkedIn messages) to introduce Upcrunch's funding solutions and spark interest
  • Qualify prospects by asking discovery questions about their business revenue, funding needs, current financial challenges, and goals
  • Identify and prioritize high-potential leads who match our ideal client profile (e.g., businesses with consistent revenue seeking growth capital)
  • Schedule qualified appointments or warm handoffs to senior Sales Representatives or Funding Specialists for deeper consultations
  • Accurately log all outreach activity, lead details, conversation notes, and outcomes in our CRM system (e.g., Salesforce or similar)
  • Meet or exceed daily/weekly metrics for calls, emails sent, connections made, qualified leads generated, and appointments booked
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to refine outreach scripts, messaging, and targeting strategies
  • Stay informed on small business trends, funding regulations, and competitor offerings to improve prospecting effectiveness
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and persistent approach in a rejection-heavy outbound environment


Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred
  • 0 to 2 years of experience in sales, cold calling, lead generation, customer service, telemarketing, or outbound outreach; entry-level candidates and recent graduates encouraged to apply
  • Strong phone presence with clear, confident, and energetic communication skills
  • Comfortable with high-volume outbound calling (80150+ calls/day) and handling rejection
  • Basic proficiency with CRM software, LinkedIn, email tools, Google Workspace/Microsoft Office, and lead research platforms
  • Self-motivated, organized, and goal-oriented with excellent time management
  • Resilient, coachable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, performance-based environment
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
