Job Description
Position: Evening Processing Lead
Program: Thrift Store
Classification: Non-Exempt - Part Time
Compensation: $23.00 - $25.00
Reports to: Director of Operations

JOB SUMMARY:
The Thrift Shop Evening Processing Lead is essential in supporting the Thrift Shop Management Team and supervising evening processing operations. This role is responsible for all aspects of the evening processing operations while offering immediate guidance and support to Sales Associates and Volunteers. Additionally, the Evening Processing Lead manages the Thrift Shop in the absence of the management team, ensuring smooth operations and continuity of service.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (*)
Retail
  • Supervises and participates in processing items including sorting, hanging, and merchandising items in functional and attractive displays.
  • Maintains a clear and safe sales floor, ensures all displays are safe and walkways are ADA compliant. Works with the donations team to ensure the items going onto the sales floor are of good quality and are properly prepared for sale
  • Maintains a clean and safe processing center, ensures all bins, supplies, and containers are used appropriately and stored appropriately after use.
  • Supervises evening volunteers and staff
  • Advises management on donations to highlight for weekly sales and displays.
  • Assist management with endcap and store displays.
Processing
  • Supervises and participates in the prompt intake of donations and processing of items. Prevents excessive sorting and stockpiling. Supervises and participates in the selection of items to be processed and prevents broken/dirty/low quality items from being priced. Assists in donation research and pricing, in coordination with management team
  • Supports donations team to ensure donations are promptly removed from public areas and moved into processing
  • Maintains a clean and orderly processing area inside and out, manages the prompt disposal of trash
  • Examines items for high value products. Sets aside items for eBay or high value sales.
  • Records all processed merchandise in Thriftrac.
  • Refers to management team as needed.
Administrative/Other
  • Manages the Thrift Shop in the absence of Management Team
  • Enters all processing and donation data into ThriftTrac
  • Coordinates with Management Team to produce daily task list
  • Ensures all buildings are secure and locked at the end of a shift.
  • Supports and assists with the training of new employees and volunteers. Provides ongoing guidance to employees and volunteers in their daily work.
  • Supports social media content creation

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 4 years of retail experience or experience working with the public.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and maneuver large, heavy and/or bulky objects up to 40 lbs. in all directions
  • Ability to stand/be on one’s feet for extended periods of time
  • Ability to patiently work with the public while maintaining a pleasant disposition
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.
  • Strong ability to delegate tasks
  • Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, Email communications (including attachments), ThriftTrac
  • Ability to operate general office equipment
  • Ability to access websites to help evaluate the value of donated items
  • Ability to direct staff and volunteers.
  • Ability to patiently work with the people while maintaining a pleasant disposition.
  • Ability to meet all requirements to become an MVCS-authorized driver.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to administer NARCAN and CPR.

SPECIAL WORK CONDITIONS:
  • This position requires work and availability outside of traditional business hours including weekends, evenings and holidays.
