Job description


Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Lab Tech Coordinator, you will perform vital clinical laboratory procedures to detect, identify, measure, and report data crucial for disease diagnosis and treatment.

Every day, you will be using technical skills, instrumentation, and information systems, providing essential clinical laboratory support while ensuring the quality and accuracy of all tests under leadership direction.

To be successful in this role requires an experienced Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Limited License Microbiologist possessing comprehensive knowledge of laboratory principles across various disciplines (microbiology, hematology, chemistry, etc.), understanding sample processing and result interpretation, prioritizing chemical and biological safety, and being adept at operating and maintaining lab equipment. The ideal candidate will be:

  • Coaching laboratory personnel to train for adherence to relevant policies and ethics.
  • Oversees most laboratory day-to-day operations and exercises authority over operational decisions.
  • Analyzes and interprets laboratory results in accordance with established laboratory work processes.
  • Participate in laboratory audits and inspections.
  • Perform root cause analysis for identified issues and implement corrective actions. 
  • Generate reports on quality metrics, instrument performance, and operational efficiency. 
  • Collaborate effectively with laboratory management, medical directors, and other laboratory departments. 
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a chemical or biological science as defined by CLIA. required.
  • 2 years of clinical lab experience in the designated lab area/speciality required. 
  • CA Clinical Laboratory Science License (CLS License) required

Preferred: 

  • Clinical Laboratory departments (AU750000): 
    • MT or CLS or MLS certification, ASCP or equivalent (per requirement sheet)
