Role: Functional Safety Engineer – Body, Steering

Location:  Dearborn, Michigan (Onsite)

Type: Contract

Role Overview

•Deliver Functional Safety work products including HARA, FSC, SRS and related safety engineering deliverables.

•Support impact analyses for assigned Body features and ensure safety implications are captured clearly.

•Collaborate with Feature Systems Engineers and Systems Simulation & Robustness Engineers to develop or merge Gherkin scenarios for safety and technical requirements.

•Support requirement refinement, traceability and technical alignment across the feature development lifecycle.

•Contribute to reviews and closure of Functional Safety actions with clear evidence and rationale.

Requirements:

•Functional Safety engineering experience for automotive embedded systems.

•ISO 26262 work-product knowledge, including HARA, FSC, SRS and FTA.

•Hands-on experience with MagicDraw, SysML, MBSE and GitHub-based collaboration.

•Python scripting capability for analysis, checks or workflow efficiency.

•Ability to work closely with feature systems, software, validation and cross-functional engineering stakeholders.
