Eligibility for a relocation incentive requires proof of a change in residence and an assignment at a worksite in a different geographic area greater than or equal to 50 miles from the prior worksite. Employees must sign a written service agreement completing a specified period of employment with the FBI at the new duty station. Recruitment and relocation incentives cannot be combined.
Additional selections may be made from this announcement to fill positions within the same division when the position includes substantially the same duties, responsibilities, and qualifications.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Must be a current, permanent FBI employee
- Must be able to obtain an SCI clearance
- Must have (or be able to obtain) a valid driver's license
- Some travel may be required
- Selectee will be required to complete form FD-887, Request for Access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
The work is sedentary and requires walking and standing in conjunction with travel to meetings and conferences away from the work site. Some incumbents may carry light items such as papers, books, or small parts, or drive a motor vehicle. Some work may require some strenuous physical exertion such as climbing tall ladders, lifting heavy loads in excess of 50 pounds, and working with various cables in very confined areas.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions. Some incumbents may occasionally be exposed to uncomfortable conditions.
MAJOR DUTIES
- Leads a staff of IT Specialists, addresses existing and newly introduced advanced systems. Provides guidance regarding all technical issues pertaining to planning, designing, developing, procuring, implementing, operating, and maintaining the FBI IT systems.
- Responsible for planning, staffing, coordinating, directing and controlling both short and long-range projects.
- Serves as subject matter expert and local point of contact performing administrative tasks, servers, analyzes network performance, applies patches to servers and systems, and develops and maintains relationships with FBI and non-FBI technical staff.

GS-13: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS-12 grade level. SE is defined as follows:
- Provided guidance, advice, and/or instruction to various levels of personnel regarding technical matters related to IT programs and/or services.
- Planned, coordinated and directed short and long range IT projects.
- Worked with clients and customers assessing their needs, providing assistance, and resolving problems related to IT systems and services, and LAN/WAN networks.
Education may not be substituted for specialized experience at the GS-13 level.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Positions with fitness for duty requirements or those that require international travel may require proof of certain vaccinations.
- Limited Movement: Policy has been implemented wherein support employees entering a position may be precluded from moving to another position within the Bureau through reassignment or change to a lower grade for a minimum of 12 months. HRD will waive this limited movement policy for qualified employees, who have received an official notification letter that their current position is being relocated due to an organizational restructuring initiative, so those employees can compete for a position elsewhere.
