Job Title: Racquets Courts Maintenance

Department: Racquets

Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

Reports To: Director of Racquets / Racquets Operations Manager

Position Summary

Broken Sound Club is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Part -Time Racquet Courts Maintenance associate responsible for the daily care, preparation, maintenance, and overall presentation of all racquet sports facilities. Working Tuesday through Saturday from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM, this position plays a vital role in ensuring tennis, pickleball, and other racquet courts remain safe, visually appealing, and competition-ready while supporting an exceptional member experience.

Essential ResponsibilitiesCourt Maintenance & Preparation
  • Maintain, groom, level, line, and prepare all racquet courts to Club standards.
  • Perform daily court inspections to ensure safe playing conditions.
  • Maintain court surfaces, including clay, hard, and specialty courts as applicable.
  • Drag, roll, sweep, water, and prepare courts for daily play and special events.
  • Repair court surfaces, lines, and playing areas as needed.
Irrigation & Facility Maintenance
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair irrigation systems, sprinklers, and water supply lines.
  • Monitor court moisture levels and watering schedules.
  • Maintain drainage systems and address court water management issues.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance of facility equipment and infrastructure.
  • Maintain water fountains, seating areas, cabanas, and spectator viewing areas.
Equipment & Grounds Operations
  • Safely operate rollers, blowers, brooms, utility vehicles, golf carts, and other maintenance equipment.
  • Transport materials, tools, supplies, and debris throughout the facility.
  • Maintain equipment in proper operating condition and report repair needs promptly.
  • Assist with inventory management of maintenance supplies and materials.
Facility Appearance & Member Experience
  • Maintain fences, windscreens, gates, court furnishings, and surrounding areas.
  • Ensure courts and facilities present a professional and welcoming appearance.
  • Support tournaments, special events, clinics, and member programming.
  • Respond professionally to member requests and operational needs.
Safety & Team Collaboration
  • Follow all Club safety policies and operational procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with Racquets professionals and Club departments to support daily operations.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience in tennis, racquet sports, grounds, turf, or facility maintenance preferred.
  • Experience maintaining clay courts highly desirable.
  • Ability to operate maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, push, pull, and twist throughout the workday.
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks associated with court preparation, maintenance, and facility upkeep.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally with assistance.
  • Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment.  
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, wind, and direct sunlight.
