Position Title: Teaching Professional
Department: Racquets
Location: Hillwood Country Club, Nashville, TN
Reports To: Director of Racquets
Employment States: Part-Time
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Effective Date: May 19, 2025
Position Overview
This position will be responsible for delivering high-quality tennis and/or pickleball instruction to members of all ages and skill levels, while also contributing to the overall success of the racquets program. This role requires a commitment of 5-15 hours of clinics per week, which grants access to unlimited private lessons/clinics and additional opportunities.
Responsibilities
Instruction & Coaching

• Provide private and group lessons to juniors and adults at all levels, focusing on skill development,
Strategy, and enjoyment of the game
• Lead and assist with club clinics, camps, and social events to enhance the member experience
• Stay updated on modern teaching techniques and best practices to ensure high-quality instruction
Member Engagement & Customer Service
• Foster a welcoming and positive learning environment for all members
• Communicate effectively with members regarding lesson plans, progress, and program opportunities
• Encourage participation in club leagues, tournaments, and social play
Operational & Professional Conduct
• Arrive on time and clock in no more than 15 minutes before scheduled lessons and clock out no later than
15 minutes after completing lessons
• Maintain professional conduct, appearance, and enthusiasm on and off the court
• Assist in maintaining courts, equipment, and club facilities as needed
• Comply with club policies, safety procedures, and industry best practices
• Employees must receive prior approval before working any overtime. Overtime requests must be
submitted and approved before the start of the workweek. Unauthorized overtime will not be permitted
Qualifications & Skills
• USPTA or PTR certification (or working toward certification) preferred
• Competitive playing experience at the collegiate or professional level is a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage members of all ages
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate with other professionals and club staff
• Ability to adapt to member needs and provide personalized instruction
Compensation and Benefits
• Access to professional development opportunities, including certifications and training
• Health benefits, 401(k), and other club perks
• Hourly clock-in rate of $11.67 paid out bi-weekly
• 50-60% of lesson & clinic profit
• $20-$30 an hour for all assistant clinic hours
• Lesson % will be paid bi-weekly
• Clinic hours/percentages will be paid on a bi-weekly basis
