Job description

Position: Outside Contractor Sales Rep
Location: Coastal Georgia with Glynn County being the priority market.
Compensation: Salary base + commission established off percentage of gross profit and achieved goals
FLSA: Full-time, Exempt position
Report to: Owner/General Manager
Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screen
We are a family business with multiple locations in Southeast Georgia. We are currently looking for a dynamic salesperson to help us grow our business in the Brunswick area.
Position Summary:
The Outside Sales Rep maintains sales with established customers, generates new customers and accounts and offers solutions to the construction needs of our area contractors and customers. The Outside Sales Rep is responsible for growing sales of residential and commercial building materials to existing customers while attracting new customers.
Duties amp; Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and expand sales volume within existing and prospective customer base using all available resources
  • Evaluate customersโ€™ current and future needs and build productive, long-lasting relationships
  • Establish new customers and accounts
  • Pull building permits
  • Follow through on all sales leads
  • Handle quotes for contractors on all aspects of residential and commercial construction
  • Follow up with customers on bids, orders, and delivery
  • Address service concerns promptly and provide solutions
  • Visiting job sites to ensure progress is moving forward and on track
  • Address any issues with contractors or customers promptly
  • Communicating with customer any changes that could affect timeline
  • Understand lead times on material and inform all appropriate parties
  • Beware of and identify potential opportunities for company growth
  • Other reasonable directives and responsibilities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice
  • Run small fill-in items to customers
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to read blueprints and do take-off estimates
  • Experience with PlanSwift software is very helpful but not required
  • Lumber and building material product knowledge
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer focus (exceed customerโ€™s expectations) and commitment to drive sales
  • Detail oriented, with strong time-management and organizational skills
  • Order correct materials and the proper quantity
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Problem solver
  • Self-motivated and driven, while working to achieve company goals

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 2 yearsโ€™ experience in building materials and construction sales
  • Proven track record of achieving sales quotas and goals
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the construction industry, millwork (windows, doors, trim, etc.) and an understanding of construction drawings and specifications
  • Clean driving record and valid driverโ€™s license
Work Environment:
Work performed in various environments, which include an office setting and outdoors
Travel Requirement:
Locally around the Brunswick area and to our four Southeastern locations
Transportation:
Rep will be provided a company truck for use only during working hours
