Job Title: Field Service Engineer
Client: Industrial Machinery Manufacturing
Working Location: Reno, NV
Travel : up to 75% throughout assigned territory/nationwide
Employment Type: Permanent/Full-time

What will you do:
Install, configure, commission, and start up SMT and industrial automation equipment at customer sites.
Perform equipment retrofits, upgrades, and custom modifications.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, software, and process-related issues both onsite and remotely.
Provide advanced technical support to minimize customer downtime and escalate complex issues to engineering teams when needed.
Deliver operator and maintenance training to customer personnel.
Advise customers on process optimization, preventive maintenance, and equipment efficiency improvements.
Collect and analyze technical data to support troubleshooting, reliability tracking, and continuous process improvement.
Prepare detailed service reports and technical documentation while communicating findings to customers and internal stakeholders.
Serve as the technical liaison between customers and internal engineering teams.
Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Travel extensively throughout the assigned territory, including overnight and short-notice travel as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of technical education, military training, and relevant experience.
Experience with SMT equipment or similar industrial automation machinery preferred.
Strong background in mechanical and electrical diagnostics, repair, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
Ability to interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and mechatronic system diagrams.
Proficiency with Windows-based operating systems, software installation, and system configuration.
Basic knowledge of networking concepts and modern computing applications.
Strong understanding of industrial automation systems.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a customer-focused mindset.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to travel extensively by air and car, including overnight travel.
