The RoleWe are seeking a strategic and proactive Procurement Manager to transform our procurement function from an operational administrative unit into a proactive strategic partner. Reporting directly to the VP, Controller, this role will lead all global procurement activities including for our technology, cloud, and professional services spend.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who excels at high-stakes negotiation, spend optimization, and sophisticated contract management. You will be responsible for ensuring our vendor infrastructure scales efficiently alongside our growth while protecting the company's bottom line and legal interests.
Responsibilities- Strategic Sourcing & Footprint Optimization: Conduct regular "footprint reviews" to audit and consolidate our vendor base, identifying redundancies to eliminate SaaS and service provider "sprawl".
- High-Stakes Negotiation: Own end-to-end negotiations for business points, leveraging industry benchmarks to secure favorable pricing, structures, and favorable SLAs/MSAs.
- Lifecycle Management: Proactively manage the full vendor lifecycle and renewal calendar, triggering renegotiations or consolidations 90-120 days in advance of expiration.
- Spend Intelligence & Reporting: Identify hidden costs, seat underutilization, and shadow IT to report on cost avoidance, footprint reduction, and forecasted vendor ROI.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering, IT, Product, Finance, and Legal to understand stakeholder requirements and translate them into effective, compliant sourcing solutions.
- Process & Compliance: Design and continuously improve procurement policies and controls, ensuring alignment with internal financial standards and vendor risk assessments.
- System Ownership: Manage procurement-related platforms and contract lifecycle management tools to maintain accurate records of spend and contracts.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or vendor management, preferably within a tech or SaaS environment.
- Negotiation Expertise: Proven track record of negotiating enterprise SaaS and Cloud Infrastructure contracts where you successfully moved the needle on custom terms.
- Consolidation Skills: Demonstrated experience rationalizing vendor footprints and successfully merging or eliminating redundant services in a complex environment.
- Market Intel: Deep familiarity with current market pricing for major SaaS categories and subscription-based pricing models.
- Communication: Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills with a "business partner" mindset.
- Preferred: Experience in high-growth startups and professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) are highly desirable, experience using Zip.
