Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Landscape Designer to lead high-end residential design-build projects with direct ownership of client engagement, design development, and project closure.

This is a hybrid design and sales role - not a purely creative design position. The ideal candidate is a confident, client-facing professional who can guide homeowners through the full lifecycle of a project, from the initial consultation through concept development, presentation, and signed agreement.

You will play a direct role in driving revenue, generating backlog for installation teams, and creating exceptional outdoor living environments for estate-level residential clients.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with homeowners and estate-level clients to understand project goals, design vision, lifestyle needs, and budget expectations
  • Develop custom residential landscape concepts, outdoor living spaces, and detailed site layouts tailored to each client
  • Create polished 3D models, renderings, and visual presentations that clearly communicate design intent
  • Lead client presentations and consultative sales conversations with confidence and professionalism
  • Close high-end residential landscape projects typically ranging from $50K-$100K+ in value
  • Generate consistent project backlog by converting active opportunities into signed contracts
  • Manage multiple active client opportunities while maintaining responsiveness and high service standards
  • Collaborate closely with installation and field teams to ensure accurate execution of approved design concepts
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in design processes, customer experience, and sales performance
  • Maintain strong client relationships throughout the full project lifecycle

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in residential landscape design or design-build environments
  • Proven track record successfully selling and closing residential landscape or outdoor living projects
  • Experience working with high-end residential or estate-level clientele required
  • Strong proficiency in landscape design software with advanced 3D modeling and rendering capabilities
  • Excellent client-facing, presentation, and consultative sales skills
  • Ability to independently manage the full project lifecycle from consultation through signed agreement
  • Comfortable being measured on revenue production, project conversion, and backlog generation
  • Residential design-build background required - commercial-only experience will not be considered
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary plus commission and performance-based bonus opportunities
  • Health insurance and benefits package
  • Retirement plan options
  • Paid time off
  • Direct impact on company growth, revenue generation, and project pipeline development
