Role Description

This role produces 2D plumbing system drawings and 3D plumbing system models in AutoCAD, to support our fabrication and submittal processes. Proficiency with AutoCAD 3D modeling is absolutely paramount, together with an understanding of plumbing systems and the ability to envision them. Existing resources make quick work of sizing calculations and quote preparation, but accuracy and attention to detail are exceptionally essential to ensuring the integrity, quality and efficiency of our engineering processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Prepare 2D drawings and 3D models for plumbing and piping systems in an accurate and timely manner, routing systems as required per company standard and overlaying them with other trades, as applicable, while factoring in existing fixtures and requirements.
  • Consistently maintain a high standard of quality, accuracy and detail orientation.
  • Indicate proper pipe sizes, materials, specifications, notes or other required information on drawings.
  • Apply provided information and existing resources to calculate sizing sheets and prepare quotes.
  • Apply a sense of urgency when responding to requests from sales, engineering or customers.
  • Adhere to company and client engineering standards and procedures.
  • Communicate using clear, professional verbal and written communication.
  • Take initiative to learn, retain and develop skills and abilities over time.
  • Proactively communicate questions or issues to leadership.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide technical input.

REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION:

  • MUST be of legal hiring age, authorized to work in the US without sponsorship and have HS Diploma.
  • MUST have exceptional proficiency with AutoDesk / AutoCAD/ SOLIDWORKS 3D MODELING
  • MUST possess 2 years of plumbing system / fluid system design and modeling experience
  • MUST grasp how plumbing works independently and when integrated with building systems
  • MUST consistently produce work that demonstrates urgency, attention to detail and accuracy.
  • MUST possess fluent proficiency in utilization of Microsoft Office suite .
  • Associates' or bachelor's degree in engineering (or equivalent experience and training) preferred
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills - both verbal and written - are essential.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes (UPC, IPC, local amendments, and ADA) a bonus
