Job description

Overview

The Business Analyst, Commercial Operations, supports the day-to-day analytics, reporting, and operational needs of the Rare Disease commercial business. This role is responsible by maintaining reports and dashboards, validating data, supporting CRM and reporting processes, and delivering ad hoc analyses that help Rare Disease commercial teams execute more effectively. The individual will work closely with Rare Disease Sales, Marketing, Patient Access, Finance, IT, and Commercial Operations to ensure accurate reporting, reliable data, and timely analytical support.

Responsibilities

Produce and maintain recurring Rare Disease sales and commercial performance reports using Excel, Power BI, CRM, and other reporting tools. Support ad-hoc analysis requests for Rare Disease from Sales, Marketing, Commercial Operations, Patient Access, Finance and leadership teams. Support Rare analytics with data pulls, report refreshes, variance checks, business review preparation, and follow-up analysis. Validate data across internal and external systems and investigate discrepancies to ensure reporting accuracy. Assist with data reconciliation and information flow across commercial reports, dashboards, and source systems to help ensure consistency in how performance metrics are defined and interpreted. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into reporting updates, data pulls, dashboard enhancements, and operational support. Track KPI performance and help prepare materials for monthly and quarterly business reviews. Document business rules, process flows, and user guides to support consistency and knowledge transfer. Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting efficiency, and automation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, Economics, Statistics, or related field. 1-3 years of relevant experience in analytics, sales operations, finance, commercial operations, consulting, or related field. Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills. Experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau Exposure to CRM systems such as Salesforce.com or Veeva CRM. Strong analytical aptitude and attention to detail. Effective communication and collaboration skills. Strong problem-solving skills with ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in pharma, biotech, medtech, healthcare, or other regulated industry. Understanding of healthcare data, specialty pharmacy, or market access reporting is a plus.

Working Conditions: Position may require periodic evening and weekend work, as necessary to fulfill obligations. Periodic overnight travel. This is a hybrid role based in Xeris' Chicago office and requires a minimum of three days per week in the office. On-site requirement may change at management's discretion. Travel expected up to 10%, including periodic overnight travel as business needs require.

The level of the position will be determined based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $91,000 to $114,000. Final determination of base salary offered will depend on several factors relevant to the position, including but not limited to candidate skills, experience, education, market location, and business need. This role will include eligibility for bonus and equity. The total compensation package will also include additional elements such as multiple paid time off benefits, various health insurance options, retirement benefits and more. Details about these and other offerings will be provided at the time a conditional offer of employment is made.
