To thrive as a Commercial Litigation Partner, you need extensive legal expertise in commercial law, a strong litigation track record, and a Juris Doctor (JD) degree with bar admission. Mastery of legal research databases like Westlaw or LexisNexis, as well as experience with case management systems, is typically required. This role is designed for a senior attorney with a proven track record in complex civil litigation, client relationship management, and team leadership. The ideal candidate combines strong courtroom skills with strategic judgment, mentorship, and business development acumen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all phases of complex civil and public entity defense matters, from inception to resolution.
  • Take and defend high-stakes depositions of parties, corporate representatives, and expert witnesses.
  • Drive practice group growth by developing clients and cross-selling other practice areas.
  • Oversee case strategy, matter budgeting, staffing, and quality control.
  • Serve as primary relationship partner for institutional clients.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop associates and paralegals.
  • Argue motions; serve as first or second-chair trial counsel.

  • Active admission to the California State Bar (required).
  • 10+ years of civil defense litigation experience, including public entity, employment, or complex commercial matters.
  • Established client-facing experience and ability to generate or expand business.
  • Demonstrated success managing large caseloads and leading trial teams.
  • Experience with cloud-based litigation, e-discovery, and modern billing platforms.
  • Proven leadership, mentoring, and practice-building capability.
  • Base Salary Range: $235,000 – $300,000
  • Fast-track pathway to equity.
  • Performance bonuses.
  • Retirement plan with employer matching.
  • Competitive PTO policy
  • Ongoing business development support and conference sponsorship.
  • Team-building events and firm-wide retreats.
  • Collaborative growth-oriented culture.

Interview Process

Our selection process typically consists of up to three remote interviews with attorneys and members of the leadership team to ensure both skill alignment and cultural fit.

Why Join Soleiman APC?
