Door Technician – Commercial Doors

Sylvester's Dock & Door is a fast-growing, privately owned dock equipment and commercial door service company with 15+ years of operation and 30+ employees in the Denver, CO market.

We service a wide range of commercial customers — warehouses, distribution centers, government facilities, car dealerships, apartment complexes, cold storage facilities, and more — and we're looking for an experienced commercial door technician who takes pride in quality work and reliable service.

What You'll Do

As a Door Technician, you will independently manage a daily route of service calls, installations, and preventive maintenance for commercial customers. Responsibilities include:

  • Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair commercial overhead doors, sectional doors, high-speed doors, rolling steel doors, and fire doors
  • Service and repair dock equipment including dock levelers, dock seals and shelters, dock bumpers, and restraints
  • Install, adjust, and repair commercial door operators, access control systems, gate operators, and related hardware
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues with door systems and operator components
  • Complete digital work orders via company-issued phone and tablet
  • Maintain a clean, organized company service vehicle and tool inventory
  • Communicate professionally with commercial facility managers, maintenance directors, and warehouse personnel
  • Adhere to all OSHA safety standards and company safety protocols

What We're Looking For

  • 1–3+ years of hands-on commercial door experience required — overhead doors, sectional doors, high-speed doors, dock equipment, or related field
  • Experience with brands such as Rytec, Assa Abloy, Overhead Door, Amarr, Clopay, LiftMaster, Chamberlain, BEA, or similar preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and perform basic electrical troubleshooting
  • Strong mechanical aptitude — experience with springs, cables, tracks, and hardware adjustment
  • Ability to work independently, manage a route, and communicate with customers
  • Comfortable working at heights, in varying weather conditions, and in industrial/warehouse environments
  • IDEA or DHI certification a plus but not required.
