Position Overview
As an Assistant Superintendent, you’ll support the Superintendent in planning, coordinating, and supervising commercial construction projects throughout the DFW area.
You’ll help keep projects moving safely and efficiently while making sure work and materials meet the contract documents, project schedule, budget, and Imperial’s quality standards. You’ll also assist with field supervision and serve as a point of contact for project partners when needed.
The right candidate will have experience working through a complete commercial construction project, strong field coordination skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in an active jobsite environment.
What You’ll Do
  • Support the Superintendent with daily field operations, planning, scheduling, and coordination
  • Assist with the supervision of field personnel, subcontractors, and construction activities
  • Review work and materials for compliance with contract documents and quality standards
  • Help keep project activities aligned with the established schedule and budget
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and productive jobsite in accordance with applicable safety standards
  • Identify field issues and work with the project team to develop practical solutions
  • Communicate with owners, architects, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project team members
  • Document meeting discussions and action items for all field-related project meetings
  • Serve as a backup company representative and project point of contact when needed

What We’re Looking For
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management is preferred but not required.
  • Relevant commercial construction experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Candidates with a strong record of hands-on field leadership and project experience are encouraged to apply.
Experience & Skills 
  • Five or more years of commercial construction experience, including at least one full project cycle as an Assistant Superintendent
  • Experience assisting with the supervision of field personnel and subcontractors
  • Working knowledge of commercial construction methods, sequencing, quality standards, and jobsite safety
  • Strong scheduling, organization, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with owners, architects, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, email, scheduling software, Procore, and related construction technology
  • Three references from project owners and/or architects on previous projects are required
Preferred Experience
  • Experience supporting commercial projects valued at $10 million or more in the DFW and surrounding area
  • A well-rounded portfolio of ground-up commercial construction projects
  • Experience in one or more of the following markets:
    • K–12
    • Higher Education
    • Industrial
    • Municipal
    • Federal
  • A project list showing previous projects and the contract value of each project is strongly preferred
Work Environment
  • Field-based position supporting commercial construction projects
  • Projects are located throughout the DFW and surrounding area
  • Work takes place in an active construction environment with multiple ongoing activities and changing priorities
  • Regular coordination with field personnel, subcontractors, project partners, and internal team members
