GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

Responsible for ensuring that Dunn-Edwards is a great place to work for all store employees and a great place to shop for all guests. Accountable for leading, teaching, developing, motivating, and directing store associates in a manner that maximizes sales and profit. Ensures that all staffing requirements are met, company training programs are executed for all store associates and a positive work environment is created for all personnel maximizing associate engagement and productivity. Creates business plans and actions with the objective of maximizing sales and profitability. The Store Manager is responsible for ensuring that all company programs are implemented, executed consistently and maintained, while demonstrating a desire to continuously improve current business practices.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures their Dunn-Edwards store maximizes sales and profitability and are accountable for appropriate expense allocations.

 

  • Maintaining operating budgets and creating action plans to assist in achieving key performance metrics.

 

  • Lead and empower store employees to assist in their duties of providing an outstanding shopping experience.

 

  • Accountable for executing operational procedure updates, store appearance, merchandising, inventory levels and regulatory standards.

 

  • Recruiting, training, supervising and appraising store employees and Assistant Store Managers.

 

  • Ensures a safe workplace for all employees and customers.

 

  • Demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills and communication skills.

 

  • Ensures there is open dialogue and acts as good partner with all store, field and corporate office partners.

 

  • Resolves customer inquiries and complaints.

 

  • Empowers and aids employees in developing their skills to achieve professional goals.

 

  • Responsible for the execution and implementation of company Human Resources processes.

 

  • Must have the ability to legally drive your own vehicle on occasion for meetings and various tasks.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The Store Manager is responsible for supervising all store employees within a given location. Positions vary by location but may include: Assistant Store Manager(s), Customer Service Lead, Senior Store Color Technician, Lead Sales Associate, Sales Associate, Store Color Technician and Equipment Repair Technician. Additionally, the Store Manager co-manages Professional Color Advisors.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Read and write English for safety purposes. Bilingual is a plus.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to create and manage a budget, manage and account for both shrink and swell in inventory, calculate figures in the practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, and practical algebra.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must have a valid driver’s license.

 

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
