CD&D Color Technician - New Berlin
Position Purpose:

Support the Colors CD&D team in executing laboratory workstreams, enabling product development, customer solutions, and commercialization of color systems across key applications (beverage, confectionery, dairy, etc.). This role ensures high-quality, timely execution of experimental work aligned with business priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Laboratory Execution
  • Prepare color systems, blends, and application prototypes per project briefs
  • Execute bench-scale trials following defined SOPs and protocols
  • Conduct stability, processing and performance evaluations (heat, pH, light, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate sample preparation and documentation
Sample & Project Support
  • Produce internal and customer-facing samples with speed and accuracy
  • Support application scientists in formulation iterations and troubleshooting
  • Manage sample inventory, labeling and shipment coordination
Data & Documentation
  • Record experimental data clearly in lab systems and notebooks
  • Compile basic results summaries for scientist review
  • Maintain traceability of formulations, raw materials and outputs
Lab Operations & Compliance
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe lab environment
  • Follow all EH&S, GMP and quality protocols
  • Monitor raw material stock levels and support inventory management
  • Ensure equipment is calibrated and functioning properly
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Coordinate closely with CD&D scientists and quality teams
  • Support commercialization activities through sample and data readiness
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement

Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or related field (preferred).
  • 0-3 years in food, beverage, or ingredient laboratory environment
  • Experience with color systems or food applications preferred

  • Basic formulation and lab technique proficiency
  • Understanding of measurement tools (pH, colorimetry, etc.)
  • Familiarity with GMP and lab safety standards
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
