Job description

Premier specialty packaging and commercial printing company that caters to high end clients is hiring an experienced Production Mac Operator for day shift.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and review digital artwork files and job instructions for printing using Mac/PC -based prepress software, ensuring all specifications meet production standards.
  • Manage color calibration and color management workflows to guarantee consistent results across different printing platforms.
  • Make proofs and plates according to job specifications.
  • Work closely with graphic designers to optimize layout, design, typography, and image quality for print media.
  • Conduct quality control checks throughout the production process.
  • Support manufacturing teams by providing technical guidance on printing projects and ensuring adherence to specifications.
  • Record detailed documentation of prepress procedures and workflow adjustments to streamline future jobs.
  • Work closely with department manager on scheduling, quality, and on-time production.


Qualifications include:

  • Minimum 5 years' production prepress experience with Mac/PC-based prepress workflows and software. Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) required.
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years' experience using imposition software.. Kodak Prinergy preferred.
  • Color management systems experience used to maintain consistency across various print runs.
  • Working knowledge of offset printing, foil stamping, engraving, die cutting and all specialty finishes including bindery.
  • Detail oriented with a focus on quality control throughout all stages of prepress and production.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, production staff, and quality assurance personnel.
  • Able to work in a fast paced, high quality prepress environment.
  • Able to multi-task several projects simultaneously.
  • Individual and team contributor.
  • Work 1st shift (flexibility on hours). This is an on-site Mon-Fri position.
