We are currently seeking an experienced Color Matcher (Tint Specialist) of wood finishings to join our team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities
The Wood Coatings Color Matcher (Tint Specialist) will be responsible for the mixing and formulating of coatings and tints in order to protect/decorate surfaces using spray guns. He/she will also provide warehouse support when required, assisting warehouse management and staff in ensuring our customers receive an exceptional product and service. 

  • Mix and formulate coatings and tints to protect/decorate surfaces according to customer specifications
  • Read job orders and inspect surfaces to determine procedures and materials required
  • Answer technical lacquer inquiries from end user customers regarding Richelieu's finish products, systems and application techniques
  • Maintain tools and equipment in proper working order
  • Maintain a color match record keeping system
  • Provide warehouse support when required, assisting with inventory management, shipping/receiving, forklift operation, etc.
  • Provide support to customers when needed
  • Work with other members of the distribution team to increase company profitability and overall customer satisfaction
  • Position may require lifting/pushing/carrying items up to 50 pounds, working around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals

What We Are Looking For

  • Related experience in a similar position
  • Must have an excellent “color eye” as determined by Farnsworth-Munsell test.
  • Experience tinting paint, stains, and/or lacquer would be very helpful.
  • Must be able to, or be willing to learn how to, operate a stand-up forklift
  • Must have a strong work ethic and ability to work independently
  • Must maintain an orderly work area, have good time management and organizational skills
  • Must have a basic math aptitude and strong computer capability
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • High school diploma required, 1 or more years of post high school studies preferred
