What is a collier?

Colliers are workers who are involved in the mining, production, or transportation of coal. Traditionally, the term referred to coal miners who extracted coal from underground mines, but it can also encompass those who work at coal processing plants or transport coal to various destinations. Colliers play a crucial role in supplying coal for energy production and industrial use. Over time, the job has evolved with advancements in mining technology and safety regulations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a collier?

To thrive as a Collier, you need a strong understanding of mining techniques, physical stamina, and safety protocols, often supported by vocational training or apprenticeships. Familiarity with mining machinery, ventilation systems, and safety equipment certifications is typically required. Teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are crucial soft skills in this profession.
