The Job at a Glance

 

 We are seeking an experienced Master Data Management (MDM) & Data Governance Analyst to design, implement, and operate data governance processes and master data solutions across our enterprise. This role will lead data standards, metadata, data quality monitoring, and reference/master data domains (e.g., Customer, Product, Vendor), with a strong emphasis on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) capabilities (BigQuery, Dataplex, Data Catalog). The ideal candidate blends business acumen with technical depth and can partner with data engineering, security, and business stakeholders to deliver trusted, well-governed data at scale.

 

A Typical Day

 

  • Drive domain-level MDM (e.g., Customer, Product, Vendor, Location) including survivorship rules, match/merge, golden record creation, and hierarchy management.
  • Define and execute data stewardship processes; triage master data issues and change requests.
  • Establish policies, standards, and controls for data quality, metadata, lineage, and access.
  • Define business glossaries, data definitions, and critical data elements (CDEs). Participate in governance councils and run working groups; track adoption and compliance KPIs.
  • Design and implement data quality rules, profiling, and monitoring dashboards for priority data domains.
  • Coordinate issue management and remediation with data owners and engineering teams.
  • Implement preventative/automated checks and SLAs for data reliability across pipelines.
  • Integrate metadata, lineage, and DQ workflows with GCP-native tools such as Dataplex and/or governance platforms (e.g., Collibra/Alation).
  • Collaborate with data engineering on ingestion, transformation, and model design aligned to governance standards.
  • Align governance and controls with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR/CCPA, SOX), security standards, and internal audit findings.
  • Support access reviews, data retention/archival, and sensitive data handling (PII/PHI).
  • Build training, playbooks, and communications to drive adoption of governance processes.
  • Contribute to enterprise initiatives and participate in cross-functional projects to ensure data governance requirements are embedded in system implementations and process changes.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to establish and operationalize core MDM capabilities, including governance, data quality controls, and domain stewardship.

To Land This Opportunity

 

  • You have 5–7 years in Data Governance, MDM, Data Quality, and Metadata Management.
  • You have Hands-on experience with GCP data ecosystem:
    • BigQuery (SQL, performance tuning, partitioning/clustering)
    • Dataplex (data domains, policies)
    • Data Catalog (tags, metadata, lineage)
    • IAM (RBAC/ABAC, service accounts)
  • You have a strong understanding of data quality techniques (profiling, rules, thresholds, remediation workflows).
  • You have experience defining data standards, business glossary, and metadata models.
  • You have experience with MDM platforms (e.g., Teradata, Informatica MDM/360, Reltio, Profisee) or custom MDM implementations.
  • You have experience with Data Governance tools such as Dataplex, Collibra, Alation, Informatica.
  • You are proficient in SQL; familiar with Python or data pipeline tooling a plus.
  • You have excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills.

The salary range for this role is $61,773. to $95,474.41 anually) which is based on including but not limited to qualifications, experience, and geographical location. Parts Town is a pay-for performance company. In addition to base pay, some roles offer a profit-sharing program, and an annual bonus depending on the role.
