Our client is looking for a Collections Specialist to join a fast-paced team handling late-stage commercial accounts. This role focuses on resolving higher-risk accounts through communication, problem-solving, and strategic follow-up.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of accounts and making a direct impact.

Key Responsibilities for the Collections Specialist
  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 100 highly delinquent accounts (200+ days past due)
  • Make 30–50 outbound calls daily to customers regarding outstanding balances
  • Negotiate payment arrangements and drive account resolution
  • Escalate accounts to legal or repossession when appropriate
  • Perform research and skip tracing to locate customers
  • Prioritize accounts based on exposure and risk
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all account activity

Qualifications for the Collections Specialist
  • Experience in collections or high-volume customer service
  • Ability to handle challenging conversations professionally
  • Strong problem-solving skills and initiative
  • Ability to manage a full workload independently

Preferred Experience for the Collections Specialist
  • Background in commercial collections, equipment finance, or transportation industries
  • Exposure to repossession or legal escalation processes

What We’re Looking For
  • Strong communicator and people-oriented professional
  • Someone who takes initiative and ownership of their work
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Reliable and team-oriented

Why This Role?
  • Work on complex, high-impact accounts (not basic consumer collections)
  • Supportive, laid-back team environment
  • Opportunity for long-term or permanent placement
  • Positive office culture with a collaborative atmosphere
