The Marketing & Communications Specialist plays a central role in ensuring CHRIS 180's marketing and communications efforts are organized, aligned, and effective. This role leads marketing project management and workflow coordination across the organization while also supporting the development of clear, consistent, and mission-driven communications. 

This position is ideal for someone who thrives on organization and collaboration, brings strong attention to detail, and can balance execution with thoughtful communication. The Specialist ensures projects move forward efficiently while helping shape messaging that reflects CHRIS 180's voice, values, and commitment to serving children, youth, and families.

30% Project Management | Workflow Coordination | Cross-functional collaboration  

  • Manage day-to-day marketing and communications projects from intake through completion  
  • Develop and maintain project timelines, ensuring deadlines are met across internal teams and agency partners  
  • Track deliverables across campaigns, events, and ongoing communications  
  • Identify risks, bottlenecks, or competing priorities and proactively recommend solutions  
  • Maintain organized systems for project tracking (e.g., Monday.com, Microsoft teams, or similar tools)  

30% Communications & Content Coordination 

  • Contribute to the development of clear communications that reflect CHRIS 180's voice and values  
  • Capture content for photo/video content for digital storytelling across all platforms  
  • Draft and edit content across channels, including email campaigns, newsletters, event communications, and internal messaging   
  • Support the planning and execution of integrated content calendars (social media, email, campaigns)  
  • Ensure messaging is accurate, consistent, and accessible for diverse audiences  
  • Collaborate with program teams to translate complex information into clear, audience-centered content   
  •  Review content for clarity, tone, and alignment with brand standards before distribution 

15% Project Intake & Internal Coordination 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for marketing requests across the organization  
  • Lead a structured intake process to gather clear goals, audience, timelines, and required assets  
  • Help internal teams clarify and refine requests to ensure alignment with organizational priorities  
  • Prioritize requests in partnership with the Marketing & Communications Director  
  • Ensure all projects are properly scoped, and delivery expectations are clear before moving into execution  

10% Agency & Vendor Coordination 

  • Act as a day-to-day liaison between CHRIS 180 and external contractors/agency partners  
  • Ensure contracted/agency partners have clear briefs, timelines, and feedback  
  • Track agency deliverables and ensure quality and consistency  
  • Support the Director in managing workflow and expectations  

15% Administrative & Organizational Support 

  • Maintain organized files, templates, and asset libraries  
  • Document processes and improve systems for efficiency and consistency  
  • Support meeting coordination, agendas, and follow-ups related to marketing initiatives  
  • Assist with reporting preparation and performance tracking

Requirements

  • A minimum of an associate's degree required in either Marketing, Communications, Project Management, Business 
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing, communications, or project management  
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with attention to detail  
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills  
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and external partners  
  • Familiarity with Canva, adobe creative suite and project management tools (Asana, Teams, Monday.com, Trello, etc.)  
  • Experience in nonprofit, social services, or mission-driven organizations preferred
