Description
We are seeking a licensed Civil Engineer with a passion for design and problem-solving to join our dynamic civil design firm. The Civil Engineer will be responsible for the successful planning, design, and execution of diverse civil engineering projects throughout various stages of development. This role requires close collaboration with clients, project managers, and other technical staff to ensure projects meet established timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
The functional areas and responsibilities of a Civil Engineer are as follows:
  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage assigned civil engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Design and Analysis: Develop detailed designs, plans, specifications, and calculations for projects involving roadways, drainage systems, grading, utilities, site development, and other civil infrastructure elements.
  • Technical Expertise: Conduct site assessments, analyze survey data, perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, and prepare detailed engineering reports.
  • Permitting and Approvals: Coordinate with regulatory agencies, obtain necessary permits and approvals.
  • Client Collaboration: Work effectively with clients to understand project requirements, develop solutions, and address concerns.
  • Team Coordination: Work collaboratively with internal project teams including designers, drafters, and other engineers. Mentor junior staff as needed.
  • Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Develop accurate project cost estimates and contribute to budget management.

Requirements
  • Licensure: Possess a current Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Civil Engineer with demonstrated project experience in a design firm setting.
  • Software Proficiency: Expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, StormCAD, HydroCAD), and relevant engineering design software.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, design standards, construction practices, and local regulations.
