Position Overview

As an Outside Sales Representative at Deville Steel, you will be the boots-on-the-ground driving force behind our revenue growth. Your primary focus will be identifying, targeting, and securing new business opportunities for rebar fabrication and structural steel packages.

You will spend the majority of your time in the field, cultivating relationships with General Contractors, structural engineers, fabricators, and developers. The ideal candidate blends deep industrial sales grit with the technical acumen required to navigate construction blueprints and project estimations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Actively hunt and prospect for new commercial, industrial, and civil construction projects within the assigned territory.
  • Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers, including General Contractors, project managers, estimators, and developers.
  • Project Consultation: Consult with clients to understand their project timelines, specifications, and budgetary constraints, positioning Deville Steel as their preferred vendor.
  • Pipeline Management: Manage the entire sales cycle from cold outreach and initial presentation to contract negotiation, closing, and post-sale handoff.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of local market trends, upcoming projects, competitor pricing, and industry shifts to continuously identify new avenues for growth.
  • Reporting: Utilize Google Sheets, etc to track sales activities, log client interactions, manage pipelines, and provide accurate sales forecasts to leadership. Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience: 3+ years of successful outside sales experience. Experience in the steel, rebar, concrete reinforcing, or heavy building materials industry is preferred.
  • Sales Grit: A proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas, with a strong "hunter" mentality and excellent closing skills.
  • Communication: Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory to visit job sites, client offices, and industry events (valid driver's license and clean driving record required).
