With our corporate headquarters in City of Industry, California, we have 5 manufacturing factories in the United States and 1 in Mexico. Our Atkins, Virginia plant is currently accepting applications for Steel MIG Welders.
Job Responsibilities:- Works from shop orders, specification and other instructions as to type of weld and amount of weld to be applied.
- Able to weld mild steel.
- Selects and set currents, determines rod size, selects electrode, and determines other variables according to job requirements.
- Exercises care to obtain proper penetration, avoid burning, slag inclusion or other flaws. Some alloying of metals involved to help to obtain proper material strength.
- Performs necessary routing and cleaning of defective areas prior to welding. Also grinds and blends after welding to meet blueprint specifications.
- Must know how to look up and understand customer weld requirements, prior to starting job.
- Must know and follow all departmental and company safety rules.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Performs other functions as assigned.
- Interact with other team members and occasionally with maintenance and engineers, quality, customer service and others in the plant to discuss product issues if needed.
- Able to use conventional and precision measuring instruments and able to read and interpret blueprints and specifications regarding parts.
- Able to meet internal quality requirements.
- Able to communicate effectively with co-workers.
Prior to Hire:Must pass a welding test administered on site during your interview visit.
Pay:- Steel MIG Welder- Starting Pay - $22.75 per hour / Top Out $27.06 per hour
Hours:- Day Shift Hours: 6am - 2:30pm, Monday - Friday
