To thrive as a remote software developer, you need strong programming skills, a solid understanding of software development principles, and typically a degree in computer science or related experience. Excellent time management, self-motivation, and clear written communication are crucial soft skills for remote work success. These skills and qualities enable effective, independent work and seamless collaboration with distributed teams, ensuring project goals are met efficiently.
