Job description

Cobble Hill LifeCare is seeking an experienced Housekeeping / Environmental Aide to help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents, visitors, and staff. This position plays a vital role in supporting resident health and well-being by ensuring our facility meets the highest standards of cleanliness and infection prevention.

Schedule: Part-Time Every Weekend

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, dining areas, offices, and common spaces.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect assigned areas according to facility standards.
  • Empty trash and replace liners throughout the building.
  • Replenish paper products, soap, hand sanitizer, and other housekeeping supplies.
  • Follow all infection control, OSHA, and safety guidelines.
  • Safely operate housekeeping equipment and properly store cleaning chemicals.
  • Report maintenance concerns, damaged equipment, and safety hazards to the appropriate department.
  • Respond promptly to housekeeping requests while providing courteous service to residents, families, and staff.
  • Assist with special cleaning projects as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in accordance with facility policies.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of housekeeping or environmental services experience required, preferably in a skilled nursing facility, hospital, rehabilitation center, or healthcare setting.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Knowledge of infection prevention practices and proper cleaning procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform frequent walking, bending, reaching, and standing throughout the shift.
  • Reliable attendance and excellent teamwork skills.
