Job description

Naples Classical Academy (NCA) is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach to lead our growing athletics program. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the sport, a proven track record of coaching success, and a commitment to the mission and values of Naples Classical Academy. This individual should demonstrate leadership, integrity, and the ability to positively influence student-athletes both on and off the court.

Responsibilities

• Lead, organize, and supervise all aspects of the varsity boys basketball program.

• Develop student-athletes’ skills, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship in alignment with the

values of NCA.

• Create and implement effective practice plans, game strategies, and player development

programs.

• Ensure compliance with all school, conference, and FHSAA regulations.

• Foster a positive and safe team environment that promotes academic excellence and character development.

• Collaborate with the Athletic Director and school administration to promote the overall success

of the athletic department.

• Oversee assistant coaches, manage team communication, and maintain equipment and uniforms responsibly.

• Assist with promoting and growing the basketball program through student engagement and

school community support.

• Support off-season conditioning, skill development opportunities, and program development

for future student-athletes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of basketball coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level

(head coaching experience preferred).

• Comprehensive knowledge of basketball fundamentals, rules, strategies, and techniques.

• Strong leadership and organizational skills with a focus on student development.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

• Must pass a background check as required by Naples Classical Academy.

Requirements:

Must be 21 years of age or older.

High school diploma (minimum requirement).

Current certification in Athletic Coaching (as required by the school district or willingness to obtain before employment with NCA).

First Aid, CPR, and AED certification required (or willingness to obtain).

Compensation:

Coaches are paid a stipend based on experience, duties of the specific position, and length of the season.
