INSTRUCTIONAL COACH (K-8TH GRADE)
JOB SUMMARY:
The Instructional Coach for K-8th grade is a dynamic and experienced educator who works collaboratively with teachers to enhance instructional practices, improve student outcomes, and promote professional growth. This role involves providing targeted support in curriculum development, instructional strategies, and classroom management to foster a positive and effective learning environment. The Instructional Coach is pivotal in promoting a culture of continuous improvement and reflective teaching within the school community.
QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Must hold a Professional Educator's license, valid in Illinois.
  • Master's degree in Education or a related field preferred.
  • Teaching certification and significant teaching experience in K-8th grade.
  • Previous experience in instructional coaching or leadership roles preferred.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment practices.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a growth mindset.

 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with teachers to identify professional development needs based on data, classroom observations, and school goals.
  • Conduct classroom observations to provide constructive feedback on instructional strategies, differentiation, and student engagement.
  • Model effective teaching practices and co-plan lessons to support teachers in implementing best practices.
  • Analyze student achievement data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Assist teachers in using assessment data to inform instructional decisions and differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Collaborate with teachers and the Office of Teaching and Learning (OTL) to align curriculum with state standards and educational best practices.
  • Guide in developing engaging and differentiated instructional materials.
  • Offer support and strategies to enhance classroom management techniques, creating a positive and conducive learning environment.
  • Assist in implementing behavior intervention plans when necessary.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration by serving as a mentor and coach to teachers.
  • Provide ongoing, job-embedded coaching to enhance instructional skills and strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers to strengthen communication with parents about instructional practices and student progress.
  • Stay current on educational research, pedagogical trends, and best practices to inform coaching strategies.
  • Share relevant research findings and resources with teaching staff.

SALARY RANGE ($51,435 - $66,785)  in alignment with experience and education
