The company operates multiple retail locations, a feed mill and remains committed to delivering exceptional value and service.
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
To provide friendly, accurate service and ensure that customers receive their purchases in a timely manner; and to maintain the overall cleanliness and appearance of the service yard.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Demonstrate friendliness towards customers and co-workers
• Fill customer orders as identified on the loading slips by retrieving purchased merchandise and loading it into customers' vehicles
• Ensure accuracy and safety of products loaded and complete customer liability waiver as necessary
• Operate forklift as necessary
• Clean debris from loading dock, warehouse and service yard as necessary to maintain a clean environment
• Respond to questions and requests from co-workers inside the retail store
• Maintain loading slips after the customers' products have been loaded
• Perform daily inspections of all vehicles and forklifts on location
• Stock inside retail store as directed by store leadership
• Perform cashier functions in warehouse
• Monitor and maintain pest control
• Uphold all company policies and procedures
• Perform other tasks and duties as required by supervising manager
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
• This position does not have supervisory responsibilities
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Previous retail experience preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
REASONING ABILITY
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
